My Challenging Story
In this project, I challenged myself to work with thrift-store fabrics and decorations, embracing the idea of recycling and giving new life to discarded materials. Beyond sustainability, my goal was to highlight how objects, regardless of time or origin, carry with them a lingering story and spirit. Even as they pass through different hands and eras, they retain a sense of mystery—silent witnesses to untold histories. By weaving these elements into my costume, I sought to capture that enduring presence, allowing the garment to embody both the past and the present while sparking curiosity about the hidden narratives it holds.

Work
Most of my materials were sourced from local thrift stores in Vietnam, where each object already carried traces of history and past ownership. Among them, the broken watch faces stood out as a powerful inspiration. They symbolize vintage beauty and the passage of time—reminders that even when something no longer functions in its original purpose, it still holds meaning.
By incorporating these elements into my design, I wanted to transform discarded fragments into symbols of memory and continuity, allowing the costume to embody stories that outlive the objects themselves.
